The journal “Ekonomika” presents original explanations and solutions to theoretical and methodological economic problems, research, focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the current state and development of economics, economic sectors and business firms’ strategies in local and foreign markets, which contribute to the advancement of economic science in the Central and East European (CEE) region. Also, investigations of practical (sectoral) issues pertaining to the regional economy, the evaluation of methods and solutions to economic problems could be offered. The journal presents analysis of economic management issues, their scholarly interpretation and evaluation, which are of interest not only to academics but also to practitioners. Authors are also invited to submit book reviews, critiques and other informative material for publication at the end of each issue.
The front page presents the title of the paper, name of the author(s), academic degree and title, affliliation (including department), address, telephone, fax, and email address. The body of the paper must contain all the necessary parts of a scientific paper – at the beginning research aims with the research objective clearly highlighted, research methods, new results of their solution, up to 5 keywords, the research results along with conclusions, and the list of references. The paper must be accompanied by a summary in Lithuanian or (and) English. The length of the summary should be no less than 3000 symbols.
Two hard copies of the paper and one copy on disk must be submitted (or sent by e-mail: leonas.simanauskas@ef.vu.lt). The text must be printed on one side of A4 format paper using a line spacing of 1.5 (to allow for ending remarks). The paper on disk must be prepared in Word for Windows (preferably Word’97 or Word’2000), in the Times New Roman font. It is strongly recommended for contributors not to exceed one publisher’s sheet (40,000 typographical units).
References to authors in the text should be in the following style: (Kohonen, 2001; Tyugu, 1998). The list of bibliographic references must be presented in alphabetic order and the format of references should follow the APA requirements. For example, Lavingne, M. (1995). The journal Ekonomika (established and published by Vilnius University) is abstracted and indexed in the IBSS international database (International Bibliography of the Social Sciences) and included in the list of Lithuanian serials, that meet the requirements for scientific publications (Lithuanian Science Council, 19 December 2005, decision No. VI–39).
Papers are reviewed by at least two reviewers. Rejected submissions will not be returned.
